The ioGates library is a recognizable tree structure and works using drag and drop to move and copy files and folders.
Create Folder
To create a new folder, you need to select the top root folder and then select the icon at the bottom of the library "New" If you need to create a subfolder, then first select the folder and then click on the "new" icon in the bottom of the library.
The default name of a new folder is "New folder".
Move
- Select the file or multiple files with SHIFT select
- Drag the files over the target folder. You will see a "move" icon appear next to the mouse pointer.
- Release the mouse button.
Use the same procedure for folders.
Copy
- Select the file or multiple files with SHIFT select
- Drag the files over the target folder
- Hold down the CTR or SHIFT key, so the mouse icon says "copy"
- Release the mouse button
The copied file is only a reference and does not take up extra storage.
Copy of folders is done in the same way.
Delete
To delete a file or folder.
- Select the file/folder
- Click “Delete” in the bottom of the library (Not the Trash, we'll get to that later)
- Confirm the deletion
The file has now moved to the Trash Bin.
If you accidentally delete a file, you can find it in the Trash Bin.
Files are permanently deleted from Trash Bin after a configurable number of days. To change or see this, go to the Preferences/User Profile menu. Here it is also possible to empty the trash bin.
